BIS Principal's Newsletter 27th January 2017

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My apologies for the absence of a newsletter last week; school has been very hectic with a number of events taking place. This letter will provide all of the information you will need for next week and I will return to the practice of issuing these letters at the beginning of the week on Monday 6th February. We ask that you take careful note of the following:

BIS - AISEN Football Champions
Last Saturday our footballers took part in an AISEN under 14 football competition held at Greensprings, Lekki Campus.
Out of eight schools BIS boys won second place, losing only on a penalty shoot-out after drawing 1-1 with Greensprings.
Out of five schools our girls' team took first place and won a gold medal.
Congratulations to both teams on an excellent performance.

Entrance Examinations
Over one hundred applicants attended our first entrance examination session last Saturday. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to meet them with their parents and as usual our student guides from Years 7 and 10 did a marvellous job in hosting them and giving an open account of school life here.
Please note that we will hold entrance examinations on Saturday 4th February and Saturday 18th March. Application forms are available from the Registrar's Office. We will also be holding entrance examinations at Cedarwood School in Port Harcourt and again details of these are available from the Registrar.

CIE IGCSE and A Level Registration
This is an urgent notice for any parents whose children are being entered for Cambridge IGCSE and A Level examinations this year. The deadline for payment is Tuesday of next week (31st January). We ask that this payment is made as a matter of urgency.

School Fees 2017/2018
We hope that you have received a letter from us detailing school fees for next session. This should clarify the position for everyone. If you have any questions regarding this issue, please do not hesitate to make contact.

Albert College, Canada
Representatives from the above college will be in school on Monday of next week and will be available to meet parents and students in Room L4 at 2.45.

The Palms
One luxury that we enjoy at BIS is our central location and we fully appreciate that families will want to go shopping having picked up their children from school. Therefore it is inevitable that our students will be seen in the Palms wearing their school uniform. I will be reminding our students in assembly next week that they represent the school whenever they are in uniform and that their conduct and appearance must be impeccable wherever they are. I know that our parents will continue to give every support in ensuring this.

With best wishes for a pleasant and relaxing weekend,
Yours sincerely,

Howard Bullock.
