BIS Principal's Newsletter 15th January 2016

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Another busy week has passed at BIS. Year 11 students have been very busy with their mock examinations and with co-curricular activities resuming on Tuesday there has been a lot of activity after school.

Scholarship and Entrance Examinations
A reminder that these examinations will take place here on campus tomorrow (Saturday 16th January) beginning at 8.30 promptly. While the candidates sit the examination in New Horizons I will address parents in the Library along with our PTA Chair. Afterwards there will be tours of the campus to include boarding.
There will be two further entrance examinations, details of which can be obtained through the Registrar's office.

Sixth Form September 2016
A reminder that there will be a presentation tomorrow morning (Saturday 16th January) at 10.00 am for students and their parents who are interested in the A Level programme that we announced in last week's update. This is an exciting development for BIS and we look forward to a large turnout of parents tomorrow.

Blue Sky Thinking
I have been busy holding meetings with a number of stakeholders this week in seeking ideas and suggestions for the development of BIS over the next five years. I enjoyed meeting with a group of PTA members on Wednesday and thank them for their openness and input. If any parent would like to meet with me individually to discuss ideas for future planning, please do not hesitate to come and see me. I look forward to hearing from the most important stakeholders, our students, next week.

I have written to all parents of boarders giving details of some changes in the deployment of boarding staff. If you have not received this letter, please let the Registrar know and we will forward another copy on.

We look forward to hosting the Board of Trustees of AISEN (Association of International School Educators of Nigeria) as they meet at BIS next Wednesday. BIS was a founder member of the association and we look forward to playing a continued prominent role in its activities.
With best wishes for a pleasant and relaxing weekend,

Howard Bullock.
